Let’s Work On Core

Let’s Work On Core

Well this is exciting! My first exercise post! To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I should write about this topic because I am not, by any means, an expert in this field… However, I wanted to share with you this ab routine that I put together.  Feel free to switch up the order, add weights, or add a few other moves.  It has some repeat exercises, but it’s only so you don’t exhaust that muscle group the first time around.  Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

30 Jumping Jacks

20 Crunches

10 Vertical Leg Crunches

20 Oblique Crunches

30 Russian Twists

1 Minute Plank

10 Sit Ups

20 Bicycles

30 Scissors

20 Vertical Leg Crunches

10 Knee Touch Planks

30 Second Side Planks

30 Russian Twists

20 Pushups

10 Sit Ups

30 Goblet Squats

5 Burpees

20 Penguins

I recommend doing at least 20 minutes of cardio before hand. One thing I’ve found, that is a lot more fun than just going to the gym, is club sports.  If you’re a college student, I really recommend joining a sports team at your school (whether intramural or club)!  I, personally, am on the club frisbee team, and I really love the exercise I get from practices.  If you’re not in college, many cities offer tennis leagues, running clubs, and other ways to do group workouts; try one of those options for a fun alternative excercise!
