Is it possible to find a perfect balance?

Is it possible to find a perfect balance?

Hey there! I feel like I’ve been away from my blog for too long, and the truth of it is I was feeling a little uninspired.  There wasn’t really an idea I had that I felt was really flushed out enough to discuss.  Then I realized, that’s ok! I still want to be able to talk with all of you about my thoughts, even if I feel like I don’t completely understand them yet.  So today I want to talk about the question:

How do we survive in a world in which you need money and other materialistic things to survive, while also pursuing your passions and creating happiness?

It’s a pretty big question, I know, and I for one don’t have an answer (Sorry!). However, I think that we can do this by not letting what we have to do completely overtake what we want to do. So you have to work a 9-5, but it’s important you ensure you schedule time for your hobbies on the weekends or after work.  I know it’s not that simple; we get tired and we have other responsibilities, but if we don’t at least try make time for ourselves, we run the risk of losing ourselves. This balance, that I think we all are searching for, really comes down to how creative you can be with your time and skill set. I also believe that this balance is going to be different for everyone.  Some people may have a job that is actually the source of their happiness, while others have a job simply so they can get from month to month. Because happiness can come only from within ourselves, for better or for worse, we are the ones who, for the most part, determine our quality of life.

What do you think of this question? How do you split work and play, and is this “balance” easy or elusive for you? Let me know in the comments!

I absolutely love, love, love this! This is my exact fear . . . I don’t want to LIVE to work. I understand we need money (and I genuinely agree with doing my bit for society) but it just seems horrible to me to think that we’re born to have to spend a majority of our time working 🙁 x

It really is such a difficult balance, and I hate to think that so many people are going through life so miserable with their situation. Thank you so much for your comment, and it seems like you’ve already taken the first steps toward living a more fulfilling life just by noticing that there is so much more out there! I wish you all the best!

I find this post try relatable! Its so difficult to find a balance, for me its when you know you need to be where you are at the moment to get where you want to in the future, but its coming to a point when you are ready to move on and have more of your life for you. Loved this post! x
