Happy Sunday, friends!
I hope you guys had a great weekend. I feel like it really flew by, and I think most of that has to do with the fact that I committed to a lot of plans in advance. So I was busy all weekend (not that that’s a bad thing!). On Saturday, the day these pictures were taken, my friends and I went to a coffee shop (where I got an amazing avocado, matcha, and cinnamon smoothie), then the Renwick gallery, and then to one of my favorite quick restaurants called Roti. I was glad to be off campus and in the city for a little bit!
One thing I’ve been thinking about lately, ever since I heard it being discussed, was the idea of projecting emotions onto someone. I’m sure you have all walked into a room and been able to feel tension, or maybe even joy, circulating through the air. So the idea is that we should all be able to project an emotion onto someone standing near us. The mind and body are complex, and we pick up on emotions all the time, so it makes sense that we could send them to other people. Say you’re standing in a room and you see someone clearly upset, acting out, or seemingly uncomfortable. Couldn’t you focus you’re energy on creating the feeling of love, compassion, and warmth with that person in mind? In theory couldn’t you transfer some good vibes over to that person? I really hope/think this works because I have definitely tried it before. Give it a shot this week, and let me know what you notice! It’s always nice to look out for the people around you because if we all did that don’t you think the world would be a gentler place?
