Creating a Peaceful Mind

Creating a Peaceful Mind

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a fantastic week. I’ve been relaxing at the beach for the past few days, so I was able to go on a nature walk at Camp Helen State Park and capture these photos to share! I’m not sure what to believe regarding this claim, but I was told that due to the moon being in a Virgo phase, everyone born with that star sign should make a point to connect with nature in the next few days. Regardless of whether or not that’s true, it was really centering to be out in nature.

Switching topics, I wanted to talk about/share some ideas I’ve been given while reading The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. He is a Christian writer, so a lot of what he writes has to do with the Bible. Whilst reading it, I ran across this quote: “You merely feed your mind with thoughts that cause it to be peaceful. To have a mind full of peace merely fill it full of peace…Talk peaceful to be peaceful.”

The idea is simple. If we limit the negativity and anxiety we take in, that will maximize the peace we can feel.  Peale suggests reading the Bible. I have taken his suggestion over the past few days, and I really appreciate what I’m reading because it reminds you that this isn’t a journey you have to take alone. Other ways you can fill your mind with peace are reading books with a positive message and flooding your mind with positive and peaceful quotes. In the upcoming weeks, I want to focus on filling my mind with both the peace of God and the positivity and kindness that radiates off of other people.

How do you find peace?

Thank you for sharing scenes from an area unknown to me, being a native of California I am always interested in other locales. Beautiful!
