Sometimes life carrying you forward too quickly, this may be consciously or unconsciously, and sometimes this constant movement causes us to lose track of ourselves and the people around us. This persistent push forward and focus on the next thing means that sometimes our days slip by, and while we know that some good things happened and some not so great things may have happened to us during our day it’s easy to just forget about it all and look to tomorrow
One thing I like to do when I feel this happening is to stop my mind in its tracks, regardless of where I am, before you ask this does make me look completely zoned out to anyone around me, and make a list in my head. I name everything and everyone that made me feel happy that day. For example, it was sunny and I got to walk around outside, I had a happy conversation with a friend, I saw someone unexpected and spent time with them, I had a really good meal, or I got to read my book. Whatever it is for you, say it in your head or out loud.
Side note: I thought it would be really funny to take a purposely failed tourist photo. I’ll let you guys be the judge of whether it is actually funny or not. Okay, that’s all. Please go back to reading 🙂
If things are still crazy sometimes I like to make another list. One that involves every person that I care about and cares about me. It can be a list of family, friends, and maybe even teachers. It puts whatever your situation is in perspective, and it reminds you that even if you feel caught up with essays, tests, and other commitments there are still really good, beautiful things happening in your life.Remember to subscribe!
